That's a myth,and it only appears to happen when shaving. When you shave something it makes the hair strand blunt so when it grows out it appears thicker. Hair removal cream will not cause this, it will look the same as before when it grows back.

I just use soap or shower gel. It works for me. But if i really want to be super smooth for a special occasion, I use shaving cream.

You are supposed to use shampoo or soap as a sub. Conditioner is after you shave, it helps soothe your legs if you have any cuts.


You should start using something, the longer you dry shave the dryer your legs will get(eventually)

i dont think its bad. i shave with the body soap i use. its the same to me, really. i dont think theres a big difference. soap should be fine. i use a venus razor and sometimes, i dont feel that is it necessary to use soap at all! my razor gets slippery around the blade part and i think that helps in a way. soap should be fine though. my mom doesnt buy it either. in my opinion, you dont need cream or gel. you could save money that way too!:)
Actually, it's best to shave during a shower. Especially a warm, steamy one because the heat opens up your pores and makes for a smoother shave. You could lather a body wash into a foam and use that instead of shaving cream. You can also use some conditionar which makes your skin extra silky :] Hope this helps!!!

The reason its bad, because your legs can get irritable, you can get burns, cuts, etc. The shaving cream is suppose to ease the razor so burns and stuff don't happen.

Exfoliate your skin. I wouldn't suggest using an electric shaver as this can actually cause ingrown hairs (or make the condition worse). Shave in the direction of the grain, twice if need be. Do not rush. Do not use pressure with the razor, it sounds like you are if you are scraping your face! Let the razor's weight work for you (not against you) and the blade will then do its job. If you are black, there are specialized products for dealing with ingrown hairs.

my bf also has very sensitive skin. He's also using the Nivea one for sensitive skin now, and it's doing the trick. Dunno why the other answerer thinks that's just for black skin, it's not. Give it a try. And what are you doing trying to scrape off ingrown hairs?? If you do get one very carefully remove it with tweezers and then apply an antibacterial ointment like tea tree oil so you don't get an infection.


It might also be worth a try to shave with an electric razor sometime. Could be that you are reacting to the metal/water when using a traditional razor.

I have the wavy one and it works great, and looks really natural. Since you have tight waves though, I would go with the curls. They are essentially the same product, so either one should work well.

Go with the curls one. I use it and it does a great job! I also supplement the shampoo and conditioner with a creme to separate the curls and then a spray gel to do away with the frizzies. This takes me all of about 3 minutes post shower.
i would try herbal essences hello hydration it would really well and mix it with the body envy it makes it wavy and lots of volume hope it works!!
I have quite curly hair and I prefer the wave one because it looks more natural and I find my hair becomes less hard. Very small difference though. They're both quite good.

They will work they will just leave your skin dry. Therefore, you only want to apply to the areas that you have a problem with. Be careful when you dry yourself because it will bleach your towels. If you use it at bedtime it will bleach your pajamas and pillowcase.

I too have never had any success using Sylic acid. I know that I must use a product that has Benzoyl Peroxide.





I have found that Neutrogean Clear Pore Cleanser/Mask is a very good product that contains Benzoyl Peroxide and doesn't dry my skin out. It also doesn't stain my clothes. I've ruined lots of shirts when the Benzoyl Peroxide has bleached my collars.

terrible. you never use it in pure form! the lady who said she did is lying because anyone who puts it on pure burns the whole top layer of your skin right off. Then you get a itchy rash and then it scars up. Why do you thing they only use 10% and rarely up to 25% but thats it. Also Pure benzoyl peroxide is highly flammable, explosive, toxic, and is suspected of being a possible tumor promoter.Can I use benzoyl peroxide in pure form (not in cream or Gel) on My face?
Ouch. No good. Burned skin is not more attractive than acne. You can get a strong cream or gel, but even the strongest creams are usually only concentrated by 10% and even that can be too harsh. It's a bleaching agent so high concentrations can definitely do serious damage, not to mention it's a mutagen, which means it has the potential to mess with your DNA (in the simplest terms). Even using smaller concentrations of benzoyl peroxide directly on your skin too often can cause it to dry out really bad and peel. Now, I can't tell you exactly what would happen if you put pure benzoyl peroxide on your skin, but I can tell you that the potential negative side effects far outweigh the positive.





I have a feeling sweet pea either thinks she's using a pure form (because I have known girls to tell me they use pure benzoyl peroxide only to look at the package and realize they were just looking at the active ingredients) or that she is slowly doing serious damage to her skin. I would talk to a doctor to be sure, but no matter what, it's not healthy.

I use a Neutrogena shaving gel that is great. I can't remember the name of it, but it is in a blackish-grey container... probably the only shaving gel they make. It's a little pricier than edge, but it has ingredients that prevent razor bumps, plus it is unscented, which I prefer. I got it at Wal-Mart so it should be pretty easy to find. Stay away from Barbosal and Gilette shaving creams--I dislike both. Never tried Edge so I can't make a comment on that brand.Better shaving cream Barbosal or Edge Pro Gel?
I've used both. I think the Edge is just a bit better, but pricey. Barbosal is way cheap, and a can lasts forever. If your bead isn't too thick, I recommend the Barbosal. If it's really thick, the Edge is just a tad better.





I don't use aftershave. Who wants alcohol on their face after inflicting a few thousand tiny cuts on it? I don't. Just rinse your face with cool, clean water. That's all you need to do.
Barbasol is like pre-historic stuff Dude. If you are like some of the Neanderthals with crazy amount of hair, you may need to try Barbasol. But, for most normal people, Edge is a lot better for your skin.
I actually use Arbonne.....and I have a great shave. I have very extremely sensitive skin in the face/neck area....and Arbonne has made the shaving experience liveable and non-bloody!
I use edge pro Gel and shave in the shower - no need for aftershave if you shave in the shower.
Edge is better,,,,,barbers use Barbosal because it is ';cheap';.
My husband uses the Edge pro gel. And as far as aftershave, he gets whatever he thinks smells good...he changes it up.
Get a shave cream in a tube or tub, not a spray can. They don't plug up your razor. Low tech is better.

I think they are pretty much the same. The gel is like 97% aloe vera. I got sunburnt at the beach on monday and it really helped my sunburn.

i don't think so, they all work about the same for me.





what i do to get a smoother shave:


-make sure you have a sharp fresh razor, razor burn and cuts usual come from a dull razor.


-exfoliate away any dead skin with a body brush or body scrub.


-if you want ot get a really good shave, sit in a bath for at least 15 minutes, this will get you pores to open.


-instead of shaving gel/cream/foam i use conditioner. it moisturizes and gives me a really smooth shave. it doesn't have to be an expensive conditioner either, i just use suave.


-when you shave do it slowly, going against the way your hair grows.


-rinse


-when you get out of the shower/bath apply a nice moisturizing lotion while you pores are still open to seal in maximum moisture.

I've only ever used gel or shaving cream, but I always find gel way better. i normally wax and I've only cut myself once shaving. but how about you slow down when shaving, buy a new blade and always go straight up or down. But gel is great, it gives you a closer shave, moisturizes and is a bit more slippery so you don't kill yourself.

I use gel mostly, but in a pinch I've used conditioner like that other person(and itworks pretty well). Technique comes into play and the razor to. When I used a two bladed one i cut myself to kingdom come(i shave my head) but once i got into the 4-5 blade ones that helped to.
As long as you shave with a safety razor the possibility of getting cuts are always going to be there, no matter what shaving cream or gel you use. The cuts get less and less frequent with experience.

Really the kind of acne free gel you use should be the one suited for your skin. But my mom just ordered me some sort of gel and the company is doing a testing on it. So Im getting a bunch of samples soon, I'll tell you how it goes! ONe thing for sure is that the wave does NOT work ( at least not at all for me. ) I like Pro activ - it helped a little, and Clean and Clear was really nice. Now, if you have like really oily skin, the old trick - hot water and soap! I use non - moisterising soap. It dries out my skin, not like really bad, faking, itchy - if it does that stop using it - ad it really truly works! I promise. Well, good luck!
they say that not always acne treatments work and sometimes they can also make new pimples form. what my friends and i use is dove bar soap. you have to scrub it in your face everyday thoroughly until the blemishes are gone and once they are gone you should still continue to wash your face with it to prevent future outbreaks!

I think that if you get a keloid then you will have it always. Because it is scar tissue it would be really hard to remove and I don't think you would be able to just dry it up using some cream. I would go to my doctor to ask for their advice. They will know what to do and should give you any cream that would help. You could maybe get a spray tan or somehting like that in the meantime as it will not make the scars to reddish looking if they are like that

I use a Neutrogena shaving gel that is great. I can't remember the name of it, but it is in a blackish-grey container... probably the only shaving gel they make. It's a little pricier than edge, but it has ingredients that prevent razor bumps, plus it is unscented, which I prefer. I got it at Wal-Mart so it should be pretty easy to find. Stay away from Barbosal and Gilette shaving creams--I dislike both. Never tried Edge so I can't make a comment on that brand.Better shaving cream Barbosal or Edge Pro Gel?
I've used both. I think the Edge is just a bit better, but pricey. Barbosal is way cheap, and a can lasts forever. If your bead isn't too thick, I recommend the Barbosal. If it's really thick, the Edge is just a tad better.





I don't use aftershave. Who wants alcohol on their face after inflicting a few thousand tiny cuts on it? I don't. Just rinse your face with cool, clean water. That's all you need to do.
Barbasol is like pre-historic stuff Dude. If you are like some of the Neanderthals with crazy amount of hair, you may need to try Barbasol. But, for most normal people, Edge is a lot better for your skin.

Get a shave cream in a tube or tub, not a spray can. They don't plug up your razor. Low tech is better.

I used nair when it was popular about 3 years ago, and it burned so bad! I had a rash all up and down my legs. I'm normally not allergic to any kind of cream or make-up but since that stuff is basicly burning your hairs off from the root, it hurts, and its not as clean of a process as they make it out to be, lotion and hair all over the place! I wouldn't use it, if you hate shaving that much just get waxed, it hurts but it lasts for up to 2 months!Is hair removal cream(gel) harzardous for skin?
I think it's safe to say that no, it isn't damaging. But... you can have harsh reactions, such as a burn, rash or ingrown hairs. I'm pretty sure you don't want either of those things.

There is no way to get rid of them, some people have them , some don't however, if you need to disguise them for a special occasion get a salmon coloured concealer and use it on that area.

Look at the supermarket, usually near the medicine or makeup.





Neutrogena sells a face wash with salicylic acid. It is in a clear pump bottle filled with bright orange gel.





Neutrogena sells a face mask with Benzoyl Peroxide. It is in a white pinched tube. It is usually next to one that is slightly orange, that one is also salicylic acid.





Not sure what the Alpha Hydroxy looks like, but I'm sure it is there.
Benzoyle Peroxide face wash is what you want. You can check any store like Walgreen's to see if they have it. Clearasil, Clean n Clear, and brands like that have face washes containing Benzoyle Peroxide. Same goes for Salacylic Acid (what Aspirin is derived from) is present in things like Clearasil and Clean n Clear.





Another method is to see a doc and try Retin-A cream and/or antibiotics (tetracycline, minocycline) to help clear it.
I wouldn't put Salicylic acid on his back, that's used to burn verrucas off.


I would go to Boots pharmacy and ask their advice. YIKES.

I love the venus razor...it cuts really close. the only problem is that in order to maintain a good shave, you have to keep replacing the razors. this can get pretty expensive. i never bother with girly shave cream either. i always use the mens stuff with aloe. i find that it's the thickest and prevents any of those nasty little razor bumps. the easiest thing though i think is not to shave. i like to use veet bladeless razor kits in the summer because you have to shave less often. i think it gets my legs smoother too, and it doesn't smell as bad as products like nair.

Cream cleansers work best for me,


but you have to leave it on for a few minutes


before rinsing it off, kind of like a mask.


(I use Clean%26amp;Clear Deep Action Cream Cleanser,


and it's wonderful%26lt;3 )





Gel cleansers aren't very good for oily skin types,


and plus, there's not very many gel face washes out there.


I highly do NOT recommend exfoliating,


because you're only supposed to exfoliate once a month.

Since it didn't come with instructions and I have no clue as to what brand you have. Is it a box color or a professional color? How many ounces are in the bottle or tube. Some colors are mixed with equal amounts of developer and some are not. There are a lot of variables. Try taking it to a salon and asking a stylist what you should do. Be prepared for her/him to tell you to have the color done professionally. Until you have the manufacturers directions my best advice to you is hold off on trying to use it.

it does defenitly not create curls so if thats what your looking for it wont work, i have natural wave in my hair and i use it and am happy with it it gives you sort of a piecy messy choopy wavy sorta look, your results probably also depend on how you have your hair cut. i use the shampoo conditioner, spray, and twist gel.

Pure Aloe-Vera gel that comes right from the plant is very good for the skin. The stuff in the bottle is usually mixed with other ingredient, so I wouldn't put it on my face.
Aloe vera cream i wouldnt go with because that stuff really makes me break out so idk about you. the best thing to use is specialized face moisturizer. I have dry skin out of the shower as well and you can go to the drug store and find the little things of the neutrogena moisturizers and stuff for like a dollar, and it is way better than aloe vera for me.lol hope i helped

Both come out of the can. Gel is more expensive. I believe that the gel is better, particularly Gillett gel, because you tend to get a closer shave with the gel. The old fashioned white cream is much better for making pies however.

here are some suggestions to get wavy/curly hair. i havent tried some of them, but i ve heard that they work-


curl with iron or rollers


put some hairspray in ur hair before going to bed and the tossing and moving will create random waves


braid ur hair and when u remove it there will be waves


put some defining product in ur hair and keep twirling it around ur finger. then, finger comb gently through to separate the waves


use sea salt spray or surf spray. sea salt will give really pretty beach waves


use mousse


scruch it with gel


get a perm for a more lasting solution

A cream cleanser is better for normal to dry skin. It doesn't get sudsy/bubbly and leaves your skin feeling soft and moisturized after rinsing. An example of a cream cleanser would be Noxema skin cream or Pond's cold cream.





A gel cleanser is better for normal to oily skin. When mixed with water, it becomes sudsy and removes excess oil better than a cream cleanser. After rinsing it off, it leaves your skin feeling deeply clean and somewhat tighter. An example of a gel cleanser would be Neutrogena Acne wash.
